News Blitz 4/30: Rounds 4-7, free agents news & links

Here is your post-2017 draft wrap-up and summary of Panthers news and story links.

In the fifth round the Panthers selected Miami cornerback Corn Elder.

The sixth round had the Panthers selecting Fullback Alex Armah from West Georgia. Though drafted as a fullback, Armah is a multidimensional player who started as linebacker, switched to defensive end and has also played tight end.

In the seventh round the Panthers made team history by doing what most fantasy-league GMs do: they drafted a kicker. Harrison Butker is the first kicker to be drafted by the Panthers in the team’s history. Graham Gano struggled in the 2016 season and while Butker poses little risk to Gano’s job it should send a clear message. USA Today Panthers Wire disagrees.
